Data Analyst

CPI is seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing team! We are a full-service consultancy and professional services firm specializing in large capital projects (infrastructure, energy, etc). We are headquartered in San Diego, CA, but our team is fully remote.

Job Duties

• Understand the client’s industry and business, interpret trends, and learn leading practices and metrics
• Visualize data in an easily consumable way for business stakeholders
• Gather, synthesize, and analyze data to meet business needs
• Execute ETL processes in order to assess client datasets, identify nulls or errors, and load to appropriate platforms
• Perform data analysis and compile technical reports and findings
• Operate comfortably with several analysis and visualization technologies

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Information Systems, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
• At least 1 year of related experience (i.e. business analysis, information systems, data engineering, program management, continuous improvement, project management, database management, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving and continuous process improvement abilities
• Ability to present complex technical information and concepts in a concise way in writing and verbally
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Ability to effectively participate in multi/cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Ability to write and run select type queries against multiple tables using a development tool such as Toad or Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
• Knowledge of database management best practices
• Ability to perform ETL processes against large datasets
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Communications, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field a plus.
• Energy utility domain knowledge

Pay & Benefits

• Salary: $70,000-$100,000 depending upon qualifications and experience.
