What’s unique about this role?

The Data Scientist I will be responsible for supporting the development team in creating accurate data models that drive predictability, solutions and analytics for our eDiscovery intelligence products. They will be involved in the engineering of highly available and scalable systems for real-time/near real-time analytics, and contribute to the incorporation of NLP and document classification technology and tools to deliver predictive intelligence to our customers. This role will require the application of advanced machine learning and statistical techniques to generate actionable predictive and prescriptive outcomes. The Data Scientist I will work in an agile and collaborative environment, and be tasked with solving complex business problems to support the growth of our product line.

What will this person do?

  • Assist in the development and implementation of data models that drive predictability, solutions, and analytics for our eDiscovery intelligence products
  • Contribute to the engineering of scalable systems for real-time/near real-time analytics
  • Work collaboratively with team members to incorporate NLP and document classification technology and tools to deliver predictive intelligence to our customers
  • Apply advanced machine learning and statistical techniques to generate actionable predictive and prescriptive outcomes
  • Solve complex business problems by analyzing data and developing insights to support the growth of our product line
  • Contribute to the creation of value propositions and identify new business opportunities for data
  • Determine the appropriate statistical and machine learning algorithms and techniques needed to solve different data problems while maintaining the security and privacy of data
  • Assist with technical recommendations regarding buy vs. build decisions for different components of the data analytics infrastructure
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent work experience (0-2 years)
  • Experience in developing and implementing models using programming and scripting languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with database systems such as MSSQL, T-SQL, or PostgreSQL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with a team and manage time effectively. Knowledge of fundamentals of statistics, machine learning, data mining, and predictive modeling, as well as statistical analysis software such as R or Python and SQL databases
  • Skills in developing and implementing data models using statistical and machine learning techniques, conducting exploratory data analysis, working with databases, data pipelines, and data visualization tools, and testing and validating models
  • Behaviors such as a detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a passion for data and problem-solving, a continuous learning mindset, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, take ownership of projects, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

As required by applicable pay transparency laws, Lighthouse complies with compensation disclosure requirements for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.

The expected pay for this role will range from $86,620 to $115,500 per year. This role will be eligible to participate in an annual bonus or incentive program.
